Environmental consultants provide expert assessment and advisory services for their clients on matters pertaining to the management of environmental issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The roles and responsibilities depend on the assign projects. The main responsibilities (not limited to) for this position will be as follows: Manage and coordinate assigned environmental projects, individual assignments, environmental services, field surveys, environmental procedures, etc.; Carry out in person or within a team, field survey, on-site assessment of sites and desktop work, studies, analysis, research and prepare detailed technical reports; Conduct field visits, identification and, taking in consideration all environmental impacts, interpret data, which includes a detailed assessment of the data; Responsible for the preparation of environmental and social assessment studies and procedures, Impact Assessment for the Pre-feasibility phase, prepare environmental management plans and gap analysis (due diligence) in line with national and international standards; Follow permitting procedures for Environmental Impact Assessment/ Environmental Permit, water permit, etc.; Review all submitted relevant documents, reports versus environmental regulatory requirements; Carry out assessment and advisory services for clients on matters affecting environmental issues; Addresses issues such as: land and water contamination; air and noise, ecology, waste management component, policies; environmental management systems; environmental impact assessment; Prepare project proposal (methodologies, technical and legal dossier, including financial proposal) in line with ToR, for new tenders, new project opportunities or assignments. Follow application and tender procedures since identification to final application; Identify and assess new business opportunities, liaise with partners and stakeholders and support Head of BA for project acquisition process; Maintain on-going communication with clients and beneficiaries for the assign project; Maintain communication with local and central institutions, local and regional stakeholders.
Skills and experience Post graduate degree in environment sciences, natural resources management (land, water, forestry, biodiversity etc.), rural development, economic development or engineering; 5 years of professional experience in the environmental sector; Knowledge of the environmental national regulations and laws, standards; Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work; Good organization and time management and good communication skills; Excellent knowledge of English language; Preferable Post-graduate or upper education in an international university Preferable knowledge and understanding of the international conventions and environmental policies, standards (EU, EBRD/IFC) and international practices.
